MRS. JAS. GILBERT DIED SUDDENLY AT S. POLLOCK HOME INTENSE SUFFERER FROM ASTHMA FOR MANY YEARS - CONTRACTED FLU
Mrs. James GILBERT died very suddenly Tuesday night at the home of her sister, Mrs. Scott POLLOCK, with whom she had been making her home for several months.
Mrs. GILBERT has been a sever sufferer from asthma for many years and several months ago contracted influenza which added greatly to her ailments. It was not until the past Sunday that her condition, however , appeared to become worse. Tuesday evening her husband retired for a few moments rest, while Mr. POLLACK remained near her bedside. Her heard her breathing heavily and in a few moments she became quite (sic). Upon
invenstigation it was found that she had passed away practically without a struggle.
Emma BADKER was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. Badker, born a Dumont, Iowa, and later came to Hancock county with her parents, who for a number of years resided on a farm east of Garner and later moved to town. About ten years ago she was united in marriage to James GILBERT, who together with three stepchildren; her aged mother and two brothers, Will BADKER of Mason City; Frank BADKER of Ortonville, Minn.; Mrs. Grant OSTRANDER of Thompson, Iowa; MRS. DR. RUSS of Blue Earth, Minn., with whom the mother has been making her home; Mrs. Scott POLLOCK, Garner; and Mrs. Ione EDGREN of Chicago (sic).
Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the POLLOCK home.
