Burial will follow in the Kilgore Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Mrs. Villyard passed away Tuesday in Longview. Christine was born February 22, 1921 in Coleman County, Texas. She was the daughter of the late Kyle Reed and Eula Davis Henderson. Mrs. Villyard was a devoted mother, grandmother and wife and will be remembered as someone who never met a stranger and always had a smile on her face. She was involved in her children’s activities and never missed one of their events. Mrs. Villyard was a life member of the Leverett’s Chapel PTA. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Kilgore and a past member of Laird Hill Baptist Church where she enjoyed working with youth. Christine loved to bake and cook and enjoyed keeping up her yard and playing a good game of “42”. She is survived by her three children, William Henry Villyard and wife Gene of Longview, Robert Dwain Villyard and wife Sherry of Tyler, Georgia Diane Johnson and husband Merritt of Longview; two sisters, Imogene Daniel and Louise Tilley both of Longview; eight grandchildren, Kyle Villyard, Kirt Villyard, Keith Villyard, Ryan Johnson, Angela Buttery, Marshall Johnson, Laura Weatherford, and Clay Villyard; eight great grandchildren, Jennifer and Stephanie Villyard, Max and Molly Villyard, Andrew and Heath Buttery, Macy Weatherford and Lyndy Weatherford; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of loving friends. Mrs. Villyard was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Clayton Villyard; sister, Mildred Crim Compton; brother, James Henderson and her parents. The family wishes to thank the employees and staff of Summer Meadows Nursing Facility of Longview and HeartsWay Hospice of Longview for the love and care they gave their mother.
