Harvey CORBETT²⁴⁵⁶ was born on 28 August 1919 in Springfield, SC.²⁴⁵⁵ He died on 7 February 2006 at the age of 86 in Fresno, Fresno, CA. Together Again Harvey was born on August 28, 1919, to Edna Mae Tarrant and Andrew Curtis Corbett in Springfield, SC. Following his older brother Herbert, he joined the U.S. Army during World War II. After training as a signal corps officer, he received orders to serve in the Pacific Theater. While at Camp Pinedale awaiting orders to ship out, he attended a USO dance where he met Jeannette Pakossian. Three months later on Valentine's Day 1944, they married. Returning to Fresno after the war, he and Jeannette settled down to raise a family. Harvey worked for the city of Fresno for over 30 years, first in airport maintenance, later as an electrician. After retiring, he helped out with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. No one was as special to them as Grandpa. He also enjoyed telling corny jokes and a good game of cards, especially Pinochle. His unassuming demeanor hid the heart of a great man. Harvey belonged to AGBU, the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, American Legion and FORCE, and was a member of the First Baptist Church and St. Paul's Armenian Church. He was preceded in death by his wife Jeannette. He is survived by his four children, Carol Surabian and her husband Ron, Jane Corbett, Robert Corbett and Betty Harvey and her husband Rick. He has seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. In addition, he is survived by three sisters, Eloise Ayer of Seneca, SC, Aurie Curtis Robinson of Lancaster, SC, and Claire Baeten of Rockton, IL, and their families. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. His gentle spirit will be missed by all. Visitation will be held at the Yost & Yebb Chapel on Thursday, February 9, 2006, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Friday, February 10, 2006, from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. A Funeral Service will be held at St. Paul Armenian Church on Friday, February 10, 2006, at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be at Belmont Memorial Park.
